Recently I purchased my first ESP E-II after looking at the brand for many years. As someone who comes from the Gibson family, it took a little bit of time to justify a purchase that was NOT a Gibson. Let me share with you some of the reasons I bit the bullet, and happily purchased an ESP:
The quality craftsmanship on the guitar is exceptional. I know that ESP is known for their high-quality materials and reliability, but I did not expect it to play as good as my Gibson Custom Shop does.
The amount of variety in tone that I could get out of my new ESP was diverse! I am typically a hard rocker, but I could easily get the guitar to clean up or break up slightly for a nice edge to my sound.
The level of comfort I find in this guitar is bar none. Even though I have only owned an ESP for a week, I feel like it is a lifetime instrument. One thing that I found that I love is an unfinished neck. It allows you to play so much quicker and your hand will not get caught on the finish!
ESP guitars tend to hold a decent value over time. Lots of my favorite rock and metal artists are playing ESP guitars with a huge following. There is a demand for these guitars, so I think they are a solid investment into my guitar arsenal!
Stage reliability is real and should be trusted! I would gladly play my ESP in a live performance situation with zero fears of gear failure or other technical mishaps.
Overall, investing in an ESP guitar can be a wise choice for any guitarist looking for a high-quality instrument that offers versatility, reliability, and excellent performance across various musical genres. I hope my opinion on the brand piques your curiosity in ESP and you stop by Replay Guitar Exchange to check out the selection offered. -Cliff Hanger
